We all know the challenges of close reading for teachers in teaching, and for students in reading closely, especially for those who struggle, already challenged with reading below grade-level. Let’s pool and share ideas and resources for teaching close reading with struggling readers in mind: lesson ideas, strategies, strategy guides, graphic organizers, and materials with wide reading and writing opportunities for students who struggle – I’ll start with my own here:
